What side of the bed do you wake up on?

Image
As they days seem shorter, feel colder and nature shows us hibernation mode it can often be difficult to get out of that warm, comfy bed. As much as I would like to hit the snooze button-ten more times, I have obligations to fill and places to go. It always seems a little more challenging during the winter months to get moving. You know that old saying that indicates one got our of the wrong side of the bed? It can happen to any one of us-any morning, right? I have learned that if I want to have a great day-I need to focus on having a great start to my day. In other words I am in charge of my own attitude-no one else can take that responsibility. I own it. So I have introduced some techniques into my daily “waking” process that seem to work well In ensuring I start my day off-getting our of the right side of the bed! When I am just awaking and the sand has not yet left my eyes, i take a few deep cleansing breaths as to alert the rest of my body that “it’s time” and give my...

Hey Wonder Woman!

Image
Hey momma I see you... I feel you... Feeling overwhelmed. Under appreciated. Your mind doesn’t stop. You have a mountain of laundry. A dish full of dirty dishes. Your job stressful. You don’t know what date night with your spouse feels like. You hit that snooze button and pray for just five more minutes. Not making mother of the year, again for the zillionth time. Friend time consists of Snapchat videos. Self care is a far away dream. There are days when you feel like you have failed. I get it. I feel it too, sister. Let me be honest a hot minute... Halloween is not my favorite Holliday. I despise trick or treating. The amount of candy makes me cringe. This year I’m trying something different. I’m embracing this holiday that my kids love. I actually bought me a costume. Well not really just a shirt. But the empowerment is beautiful. I ask you to dig deep. Put your hand over your heart. Do you feel that? That is purpose sist...

Life balance for the Mompreneur

Life balance hacks for the mompreneur Let’s face it-us moms have a lot on our plate from housework, to taking the dog out, soccer games while playing an episode of “chopped” when planning dinner. Throw a business on top of that and we have to become expert plate spinners which often leads to questioning “wtf am I doing?” Our minds are pulled in a thousand directions in trying to be a good Mom, wife and business owner... Wondering things like... When did I shower last? Did I pack the kids lunches? Oh shisnit..is it seriously our anniversary today? I completely to forgot to follow up with that new lead! With life in a constant high speed action movie ..wouldn’t make sense to find ways to save time and money so you could at least squeeze in that personal care time you crave? With school just around the corner our schedules are about to get super busy. We have to try to get the kids back on a regular schedule, extracurricular activities begin, and winter season...

International Essential Oils Day!!!

Image
Not only is it HUMP DAY but it is International Essential Oils Day! International Essential oils Day is July 11th and was created to recognize and highlight the benefits that essential oils provide to humanity. From non toxic fragrances to whole wellness support-the benefits are second to none! This day was founded in 2018 in honor of D. Gary Young founder of Young Living essential oils.  Essential oils are the lifeblood of plants, To highlight their benefits and keep the essential oil movement alive, people are encouraged to plant a tree, try a new essential oil or share their favorite essential oil with a friend! We use essential oils everyday in my home, in the office and on the homestead. Their is a peace of mind knowing that every essential ol I use is a chemical we are NOT using.  From lemon vitality essential oil in my drinking water to frankincense in my skin care routine to lavender in the diffuser after a long day-essential oils are a hu...

Springtime on the homestead

Image
Hey There, thanks for dropping in! If we have not met-we are Beth and Josh, we live up in the hills of Central New York on our 2 acre homestead where we are passionate about all things Nature! Springtime is my favorite season-the lilacs, the singing birds and the smell of sweet budding flowers... We love watching the sun rise, strong coffee and long rides in the woods on 4 wheelers. As a registered nurse who has worked in the medical field for over 24 years, I have seen the other side of a chemical filled lifestyle and have a passion to live and share a more natural lifestyle, back to our roots! On our 2 acres we enjoy our free happy ranging chickens, growing our vegetable garden, enjoying the berry bushes and making our own maple syrup from our 3 sugar maples. This year we planted 2 more apple trees, pear tree and blueberry bushes. It is so exciting to me to play in the dirt and truly enjoy nature as it was intended. We have been here about 3 years and it has felt like ...

When we breath in an   essential  oil , it passes through our nasal passages through our olfactory bulb to the limbic system of the brain. This is the part of our brain that holds are memory and emotions.  75% of American homes use synthetic air fresheners that contain numerous amounts of chemical ag...
